Capturing Surrogacy Joy in a Fairfield County Studio Session

There’s something truly special about witnessing the anticipation of becoming a new parent. As a Connecticut maternity photographer, I’ve had the privilege of capturing countless stories of expectant parents, but recently, a session in my studio was one that I will never forget.

Shay, our beautiful pregnant surrogate, planned everything. When she reached out to me initially, she really wanted to surprise the dads to be, Stephen and Jon, who had gone with her to every single OB-GYN appointment, shared the excitement and nerves of becoming new dads, and truly had become her friends. She was glowing with the magic of carrying life for them. We had to document it in an impactful way.

Our session was done to celebrate the unique family dynamics, I incorporated shots of the new fathers with Shay, so that we could display their connection.

The client closet provided beautiful choice to achieve different setups and looks.

Stephen and Jon were never far from Shay’s side. Shared laughter, and a few happy tears made me tear up as well. It was an unspoken love. Their bond as a family shone through.

We captured the joy of expectant fatherhood, the gratitude towards their incredible surrogate, and the overwhelming awe at the miracle of life about to grace their world.
