Ariella Turns One: A Cake Smash Celebration with Butterflies and Balloons!

First birthdays are filled with so much sweetness, and what better way to celebrate than with a cake smash? Today, we’re taking you behind the scenes of Ariella’s adorable cake smash session at Drea S Photo, your go-to studio serving New Haven and Fairfield Counties, Connecticut!

Ariella was so beautiful and was at first a little shy. It took a little warming up but, Ariella cast us a few smiles as we turned on some fun baby tunes!

Our first setup was a plain wooden set with a tiny touch of Valentine’s Day. It was perfect with her mauve-pink dress.

Then came the best part- bringing out the cake. I asked mom if her little one had tried cake before and mentioned that this would be her first time trying it! She was unsure of the cake at first, but ended up digging her little hands into the cake and testing it out. I loved these little moments, check out the cuteness! She ended up loving the bubble bath segment- bubbles and cake- what could be better? 🙂

And what cake smash would be complete without some mommy and me moments? We ended the session capturing the love between Ariella and her mom on a simple white backdrop.

Ariella’s cake smash was such a beautiful way for mom to celebrate her baby’s birthday and first year. They are about reminiscing on the first year of being a parent , too.
