We began Dawn’s gorgeous Connecticut Maternity photoshoot in studio with a Boho style gown. I loved this for her because this was her style. she really was excited to show off her growing baby bump, especially with some simplistic and minimalistic looks. This gown was so beautiful and romantic! As always, all gowns, fabrics, and bodysuits are provided from our extensive client closet.

During our pre session consultation, Dawn had mentioned to me that she wanted to come out of her comfort zone- meaning she was not afraid to display some of her sexy side! She said whatever ideas I had, she was open for it. Her vibe did not disappoint.

Honestly, there is nothing more beautiful than the art of maternity photography. I am grateful for my clients that trust me- it is not easy to pose like this and be vulnerable, but I guide my mamas to be every step of the way. They tell me they feel beautiful in my studio and that makes my heart so happy!

Here we were able to utilize different lighting techniques as well as backdrop variety. Dawn absolutely rocked it!

Here we tried some backlighting silhouettes. This is one of my favorite looks because you can accentuate the outline of the growing baby bump and just makes for some really pretty and dramatic shots. These are always a client favorite.

We decided to try something fun here- we used spotlight lighting and the results are straight out of a magazine.

Lastly, we ended off with a dark canvas backdrop and it really made our gorgeous mama stand out! I love that she brought in a kimono robe to play around with looks for this one.
