As a photographer, there’s truly nothing more rewarding than watching a family grow. It’s a privilege to be invited into their most joyful moments and to document them. Today, I want to share the “belly to baby to birthday” journey of my client Amanda’s lovely family, whose sessions took place at Maternity and Newborn Studio of Connecticut by Drea S Photo .

I first met Amanda during her radiant maternity session. The anticipation is felt at the time of the maternity session, and even more when it is one’s first pregnancy. We focused on capturing her stunning baby bump, creating elegant portraits to document this very special stage. The studio setting allowed us to control sets as well as lighting, in order to create that soft lighting and also some dramatic segments.

Just a few weeks later, we welcomed their precious newborn baby girl into the studio. We focused on capturing sleeping poses and prop setups. Our studio provided a warm, safe, and calm space, ideal for documenting solo baby shots as well as heartfelt family moments. Check out some of my favorites from Olivia’s Newborn Session!

And then, in what felt like the blink of an eye, it was time for Olivia’s first birthday – and of course, her cake smash- so exciting! The studio was ready for a fun and festive milestone celebration. We were so ready for a mess, and of course a family segment with their now toddler was also a must have!
