I was so excited when Jessica reached out saying she was expecting a little baby girl. She and her husband had done quite a bit of research on maternity and newborn photographers in the area I was very honored they chose me to document their belly to newborn baby journey. Being her first pregnancy, she did mention to me prior to shooting that she was a little nervous for her maternity session. I assured her that she didn’t have to worry- when my clients come in they make themselves feel right at home in the studio. We chat, get to know each other a little, and she realized that it wasn’t so hard because I literally tell her exactly what to do and how to pose- she looked absolutely stunning on her maternity session day and the end results did not disappoint! She wanted a studio session, and we went for ALL of the looks.
Dad was all for the session, and was so supportive of his wife and making sure she was comfortable. It’s always so wonderful to see the excitement and love between new parents to be. They did want classic and timeless colors for their maternity shoot, but they did mention that for their baby girl’s newborn session they would love to do a Christmas theme- that made me so excited and started to do some brainstorming for it. The name they chose was Amaya. I knew from just this photoshoot that this baby girl was going to be so loved and is already!
She was open to the fabric toss which turned out to be a favorite! She had a hard time choosing which ones she wanted because she loved them all. I always help guiding my clients but it’s definitely a challenge when you love them ALL. That always lets me know that I’ve done my job.
