Ellie’s Cake Smash: A Floral Celebration

Ellie’s Cake Smash was a floral dream! We used pastel pinks and whites to create a soft and feminine look, and Ellie absolutely loved it. She had so much fun exploring the different textures and flavors of the cake, and she couldn’t resist smearing it all over her face. Our Connecticut Studio is one of a kind with it’s size and endless possibilities.

Time to smash the cake! We set up a beautiful floral backdrop and a variety of props, and Ellie had a blast diving right into the cake. She loved squishing it between her fingers and toes, and she even took a few bites.

Then, we continued the session with a bubble bath, which was the perfect way to get some smiles. She loved splashing around in the bubbles and giggling with her parents.

After the bubble bath, it was time for the family segment!

Finally, we ended the session with a family segment. We took some sweet photos of Ellie with her parents, and they all looked like they were having the best time.

Here are some of my favorite tips for planning a cake smash:

• Choose a theme that youlove. We went with a floral theme because Ellie’s middle name is Rose and loves flowers, but you could also choose a superhero theme, an animal theme, or a color scheme.
• Keep the setup simple. You don’t need a lot of props to create a beautiful backdrop. We used a simple floral backdrop and a few props, and it was perfect.
• Be prepared for a mess! Cake smashes are messy, but that’s all part of the fun. Just make sure you have a towel or two on hand to clean up your child afterwards.
• Most importantly, relax and have fun! Cake smashes are a great way to capture your child’s personality and create some lasting memories.
