Melt your heart with cuteness overload! This Valentine’s Day season, we celebrated Scarlett’s first birthday with a cake smash. Nestled in our Fairfield County luxury studio, this little sweetheart smashed her first cake and channeled her inner (baby) Cupid.

Starting Simply Sweet:

As a Connecticut Baby Photographer, I adore capturing the raw emotion and pure joy of little ones. So, we began with a minimalist backdrop: a soft pink blanket, a white bowl prop, and a tiny bow and arrow fit for a baby. We focused on baby smiles which were truly contagious!

After our initial and simple segment, it was time for her cake smash segment featuring vintage airplanes soaring among clouds and red and pink hearts. It was truly a unique scene which is why mom and dad loved it so much. Check out the images below of Scarlett in her stunning red dress!

Time for cake

The cake itself was a beautiful, and I felt bad that it wouldn’t last too long! Scarlett was such a happy girl as she dug into the cake, smearing frosting on her nose, cheeks, arms and legs. This is truly the best part and the moment that all parents want to remember celebrating- one year of parenthood, and the graduation into toddlerhood.

More Than Just Cake:

This cake smash wasn’t just about capturing adorable photos (although, there were plenty of those!). It was about celebrating Scarlett’s personality, her laughter, and the wonder she finds in the simplest things. We also found out that Scarlett was going to be a big sister! This was yet another reason to celebrate big.

Bubble Bath Time!

I think this was Scarlett’s favorite part! We filled the tub with lukewarm water and she had the best time splashing around and giving us her best smiles. We all ended up very wet! =)
